Jack Canfield, is an American author, motivational speaker, corporate trainer, and entrepreneur. He is well known for the Chicken Soup For The Soul book series, which he co-authored with Mark Victor Hanson in 1993. The book became the third-best selling book in the United States during the mid-1990's. This book was was a success around the globe, and Canfield continued to co-author many more books within the Chicken Soup For The Soul Series

Jack Canfield was born in Fort Worth, Texas and spent his teenage years in Wheeling, West Virginia. He graduated from the Linsly Military Institute in 1962. Canfield received an A.B. in Chinese History from Harvard University in 1966, as well as his M.Ed. in 1973 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In 1981, he also received an honorary Ph.D. from the University of Santa Monica.

In 1967, after while teaching high school in Chicago, Illinois, Jack Canfield's career gained momentum. Around this time he worked at the Clinton Job Corps Center in Iowa, as well as the W. Clement and Jessie V. Stone Foundation in Chicago. In 1976 he co-authored the book 100 Ways to Enhance Self-Concept in the Classroom. Canfield also ran a residential Gestalt center called The New England Center for Personal and Organizational Development and was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of America (TOYA) by the U.S. Jaycees in 1978.

In the traditions of Napoleon Hill, W. Clement Stone, Earl Nightingale and Maxwell Maltz, Jack Canfield emphasizes the importance of focusing on a vision and using visualization, i.e. the act of creating compelling and vivid pictures in one's mind, in order to achieve one's goals.

Jack Canfield got married in 2001 to his current spouse, Inga Marie Mahoney. Canfield has five children whose names are: Oran Canfield, Travis Mahoney, Riley Jane Mahoney, Christopher N. Canfield, and Kyle Dania Canfield, all of which are from two previous marriages. In July 2009, Canfield was one of the expert speakers on personal growth during the DoPEace and MaestroConference, a co-hosted Social Conferencing Event titled "Being A Practical Visionary". To this day, Jack Canfield continues to be a positive influence to the modern New Thought field, as well as the self development and success fields.
