John Randolph Price

John Randolph Price was an internationally recognized award-winning author and lecturer, former CEO in the corporate world, and chairman of the Quartus Foundation. John is the author of several books related to topics ranging from the mysteries of ancient wisdom, to contemporary metaphysics and spiritual philosophy. Price has earned many national and international awards for his work and positive contributions to the world, and the New Thought movement itself.

John was born in Alice, Texas. He was the only child of John and Eva Mae Price. In his teenage years, John moved to Refugio, Texas, where he met the love of his life and future wife, Janis Bryant. While attending Southwest Texas State College on a track scholarship he'd received, John decided to join the Air Force and spent three years stationed in Germany. During this time in his life he also participated in many track meets throughout Europe. In 1953, he placed first in events at the All-Germany, the 12th Air Force Championship, and the All-Europe meet, which won him a spot in the worldwide Armed Services meet in Albuquerque, New Mexico. That year year, on June 20th, John Randolph Price and Janis Bryan were married.

After being discharged from the Air Force, Price attended the University of Houston. He graduated in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Radio and Television. Over the span of his corporate career, John Randolph Price became executive vice president of a Chicago advertising and public relations agency, later becoming president and CEO of a Houston-based agency. In the 1970's, he was the recipient of several Grand Prix Awards for best consumer advertising. Price also wrote and produced a series of documentary films for the U.S. Department of Energy, for which he received a special commendation for excellence.

In 1981, John Randolph Price, along with his wife, Jan, formed a non-profit organization called The Quartus Foundation for Spiritual Research. He and Jan were also the originators of The World Healing day which began on December 31, 1986, and had over 500-million participants worldwide. The event has continued each year on December 31. In recognition of this effort for peace, John and Jan Price were presented the "Light of God Expressing Award" in 1986, by the Association of Unity Churches.

In 1992 Pirce was also the recipient of the "Humanitarian Award" presented by the Arizona District of the International New Thought Alliance, and in 1994, was presented the INTA's International Joseph Murphy Award for his distinguished service provided to the New Thought Movement.

In 2007, Price was named one of the world's 500 leading visionaries by the Visionary Project in England. In 2009, at the 94th annual International New thought Alliance World Congress, John and Jan Price were presented "The Torch Bearer Award" in honor of their work in championing the principles and cause of New Thought. John Randolph Price passed away July 25, 2014, in Boerne, Texas, following complications from a fall. He is survived by daughters Susan and Leslie.
