Caroline Myss is an American author of numerous books and audio tapes, including five New York Times Best Selling books. She is also considered a medical intuitive and a mystic. Caroline was born in Melrose Park, Illinois. She, along with her two brothers, were raised Catholic in a large Polish American Family. Caroline attended the Mother Guerin High School in River Grove, Ill. In 1974, she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana, and soon after started her career in journalism in Chicago.

In 1981, Caroline co-founded a small New Age publishing company called "Stillpoint Publishing in Walpole, New Hampshire, where she also worked as an editor. In 1982, Caroline Myss began giving intuitive medical readings and also started consulting with several holistic doctors around this time. This eventually led to an extensive collaboration with C. Norman Shealy, a physician and founder of the American Holistic Medical Association, with whom she would later co-author two books with.

In 1988 Caroline began writing more books in the field of energy medicine and healing, five of which became New York Times Best Sellers. By year 2000, she discontinued giving private medical intuitive readings, and instead, started focusing on teaching others how to do them through her workshops, seminars, and radio shows. She soon began touring internationally as a speaker on Spirituality and Mysticism.

During the course of her career, Myss interviewed Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, the author of the famous book On Death and Dying, inspiring Caroline to pursue a master's degree in theology from Mundelein College, in Chicago. In 2008, she wrote the foreword to Kübler-Ross's revised version of "On Life After Death. In 2001 she hosted a TV series titled The Journey With Caroline Myss, which explored the spiritual and psychological roadblocks of life in an intimate workshop setting. Myss has also done several random TV Specials, including "Three Levels of Power & How to Use Them" and "Why People Don't Heal & How They Can," based on her personal work. Caroline Myss has also made several appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

In 2003 she founded the Caroline Myss Educational Institute (CMED) in Chicago, Illinois, along with her business partner David Smith. The institute offers weekend workshops centered around her books and teachings. Around 2005, Myss started hosting a weekly Call-in Talk radio show, "Sacred Contracts" featured on Hay House Radio where she gave online intuitive readings to callers. In June 2012, Myss appeared once again on a Super Soul Sunday episode with Oprah Winfrey, on OWN Network. In addition to her written work, Caroline has produced more than eighty audio/visual products on subjects of spirituality, healing, personal development, and the study of archetypes.
