Neale Donald Walsch

Neale Donald Walsch is an American author of the series known as Conversations With God Walsch is also an actor, screenwriter, and speaker. He was born into a Ukranian American family and was raised as Roman Catholic. His family encouraged his interest and search for spiritual truth. He informally studied comparative theology for many years. Walsh's vision for many of his writings is to create an expansion and unification of all present theologies to render them more relevant to the present day and time. He created Humanity's Team as a spiritual movement whose purpose is to communicate and implement new beliefs about spirituality.

Earlier in his life, Neale Donald Walsh worked as a radio station program director, newspaper managing editor, and in marketing and public relations. In the early 1990's, he suffered from a series of unfortunate events, including the break-up of his marriage, a fire that destroyed all his belongings, and a car accident that left him with a broken neck. He eventually recovered, but was left alone and unemployed. He was forced to live in a tent in Jackson Hot Springs, just outside Asland, Oregon, where he would collect and rescyle alumnium cans in order to make money to eat. At the time, he thought his life had come to end. Walsch would soon work his way out of homelessness after he started writing, and eventually landed a gig as a radio talk show host.

His first book, In 1995, he published his first book: Conversations With God, which eventually became an international bestseller. Six more of his later books have made the New York Times list in years since. It 2006, Conversations With God, was made into a film.

In 2003, the film Indigo, written by Walsch and James Twyman and directed by Stephen Simon, was released. It chronicled the fictional story of the redemption of a grandfather, played by Walsch himself, through his granddaughter, who is an Indigo Child. Walsch has nine children. He has a home in southern Oregon where he lives with his wife, Em Claire, who is a working poet. He has published over 28 books since beginning his writing career and appeared in many documentaries and has had made many TV appearances.
